From a childhood memory came a game of its own.
Footballec did not begin in an agency and not as an anonymous catalogue product. The idea grew from the memory of a self-made tabletop football game from childhood, from a real closeness to football and from the wish to rethink the game on the table.
Today it is a strategic football tabletop game with its own logic, its own character and a development path shaped by sketches, prototypes and many practical decisions.
It began with a family table.
As a child, Pavel Omelka grew up with board and tabletop games played at home with the whole family. Among them was a tabletop football game his father had designed, built and given rules to himself.
That exact memory stayed. Years later, it became one of the emotional foundations of Footballec.
The idea came at a time when simply watching was not enough.
During the difficult Covid period came the moment when sport should not only be consumed, but actively experienced again. From that feeling came a simple but powerful question: why not build our own football game for the table?
From there came drawings, prototypes, detours and many practical decisions until an idea became a working game.
Layer by layer grown
The first models were made from paper, wooden strips and small model-making materials. With every attempt it became clearer what had to work: pitch, movement, figures, rules, proportions and the game idea itself.
Footballec is teamwork
Alongside Pavel, the project also includes technologist Martin Kurečka and designer Radim Černý. This exact mix of technology, design and persistence helped turn the first concept into a real product.
More than just hitting a ball
Behind Footballec is not only the wish to build something of our own, but also a real closeness to football. That is why the game is not just about a quick finish, but also about formation, space, timing, passing and decision-making.
Not only entertainment. Also tactics
Every figure is played individually. Every move changes the pitch. That is exactly the difference: Footballec is not a classic foosball table and not just decoration, but a football tabletop game of its own with strategy, precision and a real duel feeling.
The idea is bigger than one single game.
Footballec should be a game that is quick to understand, stays exciting for a long time and brings people together at the table. Not through a screen, but directly opposite each other.
It also carries the hope for series, small tournaments, shared game nights and a form of competition that is fun without being hectic.
In the end, it is not only about a product. It is about a game with character — and the good feeling of having created something of our own that lasts.
